Punk Editorial Review
"Punkzines" is a fascinating and comprehensive book that explores the world of punk fanzines from the late 70s, including both well-known titles like Sniffin’ Glue and Ripped and Torn, as well as some less famous ones. Through interviews with key players and a wealth of great artwork and covers, the book tells the story of the fanzine movement and its place in the development of British punk. It's super inspirational for anyone involved in fanzine publishing now or ever read/collected fanzines. You'll see many covers and insights from people who were in the heart of zine production. Interesting to note is the number of copies some zines were selling when they served as alternative sources of news and information before music papers became more timely. Overall, "Punkzines" is an excellent choice for anyone interested in punk culture and history, particularly those with an interest in fanzines. It includes a lot of material that hasn't been seen before and offers a great perspective on a pivotal time in British music.
