The Alesis SamplePad Pro is a versatile electronic percussion instrument that can be mounted on a standard snare drum stand or attached to a stand or rack using the Alesis Module Mount. It has 25 factory preset sounds, which are basic, and more can be added by downloading them onto an SD card. It doesn't have built-in speakers but can be connected to headphones, amps, or computer speakers. It features 1/4" TS inputs suitable for connectivity with third-party kick and hi-hat pedals. Customer reviews suggest that the device is well-built but has issues such as crosstalk on pads, poor sensitivity, and a clunky user interface. Some customers have also reported that some of the sample pad triggers stop working after just a few weeks of use. However, it is a decent product for the price and has a good factory sound library. It is also quite versatile and can be used as a drum module with a DAW. It is recommended that those in the market for an electronic percussion instrument spend a couple of extra hundred dollars and get a Roland SPD-SX instead as it has fewer issues than the Alesis SamplePad Pro.
