The US GI Military Original Issue E-Tool Entrenching Shovel is a genuine, brand new entrenching tool that has been used by the US military since World War II. The shovel is made of hard steel, has a strong pivot pin and won't bend due to strong leverage. Although steel rusts faster when exposed to salt, it can be rinsed off with fresh water to reduce the corrosion. The shovel weighs 3 lbs and is a very durable and handy tool for digging foxholes, camping, or emergency needs. However, there were concerns regarding its authenticity, as some customers received broken shovels that didn't hold up to strong leverage. The shovel is stamped with "USA AMES 02" or "LHB 10" and "US" on the handle and has an NSN number on the shaft, but some customers claimed that there were no Ames markings or bolt on the handle. Despite these concerns, most reviews rave about the shovel's quality as the real deal for America's finest warriors.
