The RCA 7.0 cubic feet chest freezer is a great pick for those who are looking for a spacious freezer with sufficient storage space. With 14-1/2" front to back and the same for the first 8-1/2" of depth side to side, this freezer can contain a lot of items, including 40 6oz. packages of wild salmon. This unit uses about 1/2 kwh per day or 15 kwh per month or 180 - 240 kwh per year, depending on the temperature in the room. Though it is not energy star rated, it is energy efficient and can save you much on electric bills. The freezer is not sold with wheels or approved for commercial use or NSF certification. However, you can purchase wheels from a secondary supplier. The freezer is a bit heavy but is built to last longer. Defrosting is required occasionally but not frequently, and frost buildup takes a long time to occur.
