While not evergreen in Zone 7, this shrub/tree can be trimmed into a narrow shape and provides privacy while in leaf. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun but can tolerate some shade. It can be pruned after flowering to maintain its shape and get rid of dead parts.
