This throttle shift remote control cable measures 12 feet in length, making it suitable for a wide range of boat configurations. The cable length is crucial as it allows for flexible installation options, ensuring that you can connect your control system securely without any strain. In situations where longer distances are needed between your throttle control and engine, this cable provides the perfect balance of reach and efficiency.

How is the installation process for this throttle shift cable?

Installing the 12ft throttle shift remote control cable is straightforward and can typically be completed with basic tools. You will need to disconnect your existing cable, route the new cable through the boat, and securely attach it to both the throttle control and the engine. Proper installation is key to ensuring reliable functionality. Many customers find success by referring to their motor's manual for specific routing and setup guidelines.

Can this cable work with other brands of boats?

While the 12ft Throttle Shift Remote Control Cable is primarily compatible with Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors, it may work with other brands if they utilize similar connection fittings and throttle systems. Always verify the specifications of your engine's control system to ensure compatibility. This flexibility can be beneficial if you have multiple boats or are transitioning between different brands.

If you notice fraying, kinks, or binding during operation, it’s essential to address these issues promptly. Outopakkle Control Cables ‎0173112, 173112 Editorial Review

The 12ft Throttle Shift Remote Control Cable has received a mixed response from customers, with many expressing dissatisfaction regarding its overall performance and build quality. While some users noted that it worked as intended with their Johnson/Evinrude engines, there were significant issues raised that overshadowed the product's usability. Common concerns included poor quality control, with reports of small holes in the cable that required filing to fit properly. Additionally, customers reported kinking of the cables upon arrival, higher friction, and an overall grittier motion compared to older OMC cables they were replacing. A particularly alarming review highlighted a catastrophic failure where the shift cable broke unexpectedly after just a few outings, putting the customer in a potentially dangerous situation on the water. This left many users questioning the durability and reliability of these cables, prompting recommendations to invest in well-known brands instead. In summary, while the installation may initially succeed, the long-term reliability of the 12ft Throttle Shift Remote Control Cable appears to be in question, prompting a cautionary note for potential buyers. **
